To Blend In, To Belong is a textile collection inspired by traditional Slovak embroidery and native New Zealand flora & fauna, that draws from the concept of camouflage. It represents my personal journey of a Slovak girl moving to the other side of the world, trying to blend in as well as retain her cultural identity in the new country.
Folk embroidery style and camouflage pattern principles have been explored through this research-led project, to create a vibrant textile collection that speaks to my desire to belong.

I am a textile designer passionate about creating repeat patterns and embroidery designs for apparel. I am often inspired by nature, landscape and places that I visit. My design aesthetic combines bright colours, bold illustrations, and interesting textures.
