My collection is based on the journey from childhood to adulthood and the loss of a true expression of your authentic self throughout this progression. Through external influences we are shaped and moulded into mainstream, conformative ways of thinking that impose an acceptable view of the world that suppresses true forms of creativity; a progression that I have personally experienced in my transition from childhood to maturity that constrained my innate ability to discover new methods and forms of expression. Blissful thinking evokes the childlike state, the carefree unblemished canvas of innocence and inexperience, that allows the unfettered reminiscence of the days of childhood and the freedom, authenticity and creativity that comes with it. It is an escape to the fantasy world we once lived in and how we tap into, rediscover and redefine them in our adult lives.
