Jing Luo

This couture collection ‘The Seasons’ merges aesthetics of the East and the West, as a personal exploration of my past in combination with my current experience in New Zealand. In this information age, different language, lifestyle, food, even the education are no longer impeded by geography and communications. As a designer I believe that in this modern world there should be a globalized aesthetic and through this body of work I aim to create that vision. This collection explores each of the four seasons using traditional Chinese prints and embroideries, in floating organza, silk and chiffons. ‘The Seasons’ combines traditional hand techniques with the new by utilizing modern technologies such as laser cutting.
