The Memoir Project

Information

Ten years ago, my Grandad wrote and printed his memoir to share with his family and friends. Despite the popularity of identity documentation, there is a lack of opportunities for people like Grandad to publish affordably in New Zealand. Through my passion for publication design, The Memoir Project has been created, to explore how creators can share their stories for generations to come. This online platform offers writers, families and elderly alike to create an artefact which embodies their identity, and to archive the memories they want to leave behind. Through a personal publication facility, this project will challenge the way authors and publishers see memoirs, and prove that people are interested in personal documentation now, and will continue to be for generations to come. As an example of this, I was given the opportunity to design and produce Grandads memoir, The Glory to be Revealed.
