Information
Assembly Journal was created in response to an overwhelming, and problem oriented news environment. The widespread issues of fake news, click bait and negative reporting are resulting in deteriorating levels of trust and increasing levels of disengagement, especially among younger generations. Assembly Journal is a multi-touchpoint news ecosystem designed for Millennials. The magazine uses a journalistic framework called Solutions Journalism which is used to construct an understanding of a social issues in its entirety. The ecosystem consisting of a website, social media, bi-monthly talks and a magazine, has the ability to facilitate more meaningful and sustained interaction with readers. Assembly Journal offers an alternative to existing sources of news and social affairs, it provides a slower, more considered, journalistic approach to news in New Zealand.
